press releaseCJ OLIVE YOUNG is recruiting new talent to help shape global K-beauty trends. The 2026 2H New Hire Recruitment will hire for a total of 31 roles across the general and Global Insight tracks. For this recruitment, OLIVE YOUNG is expanding its existing Global track into the Global Insight track, reflecting the growing demand for talent with global capabilities as its overseas business continues to expand alongside the rising popularity of K-beauty worldwide. The company has added four global roles compared with the first half of the year and introduced a new design role. It will also introduce a presentation assignment to assess candidates across multiple areas, including language proficiency, global experience and problem-solving skills. Strengthening MD and tech talent to drive growth in K-beauty and wellness OLIVE YOUNG has continued to recruit and develop talent to help shape emerging trends in K-beauty and wellness. In particular, the company has actively expanded its workforce in areas critical to its business, from identifying emerging trends to developing its distinctive product curation. As a result, its core MD organization grew 2.3 times between 2021 and 2025, serving as a key engine of the company’s growth. The company is also investing in structured development programs to help employees in customer-facing roles build expertise and advance their careers. One example is the Beauty Consultant role, which provides customers with one-on-one makeup and skincare counseling and personalized solutions. When the role was introduced in 2024, the team consisted of 18 employees. It has since grown to nearly four times its original size, establishing the role as an important career path for employees seeking to develop specialized expertise and broaden their career opportunities. More recently, OLIVE YOUNG has focused on strengthening its platform technology capabilities and recruiting specialized talent to lead the advancement of Retail Tech. Since establishing a dedicated tech organization in 2021, the company has rapidly expanded its tech workforce. More than 100 tech professionals were newly recruited last year alone, while the overall number of employees across its tech functions has grown 6.8 times over the past five years. Continuing to create jobs for young people and expanding career pathways A key focus of OLIVE YOUNG’s talent strategy is supporting young people under the age of 30. The company has continued to expand employment opportunities for young people while building a structured environment where new hires can develop into specialized professionals. Despite challenging conditions in the youth employment market, OLIVE YOUNG has steadily increased the size of its graduate recruitment. In 2025, the number of new hires was more than three times that of 2021. Young people accounted for 70.9% of all employees hired over the past five years, and as of the end of 2025, employees under 30 represented 79% of OLIVE YOUNG’s total workforce. As more young employees join the organization and have opportunities to build their expertise, a career pathway has naturally emerged in which approximately 70% of full-time store employees, known as Curators, have progressed from hourly Crew positions. After transitioning to full-time employment, employees can advance to store manager positions through OLIVE YOUNG’s internal promotion system or move into headquarters roles through its “Job Posting” program, an internal recruitment system used to fill open positions. OLIVE YOUNG plans to continue expanding recruitment of both new graduates and experienced professionals to help lead the global expansion of K-beauty and the advancement of the retail industry driven by AX (AI Transformation). At the same time, the company will continue to provide a range of internal training programs to support employees in developing specialized expertise and growing into trend leaders. An OLIVE YOUNG representative said, “As OLIVE YOUNG expands its business beyond being a leading K-beauty platform into global markets and the tech sector, the roles and expertise we need from our talent are becoming increasingly diverse. We will continue our efforts to provide young talent with opportunities to develop specialized expertise and grow into future leaders.” Key details of OLIVE YOUNG’s 2026 second-half graduate recruitment General Track Openings: 24 roles General Business: 17 roles, including MD, Product Development BM, Marketing, Design, SCM, Commercial Area Development and Corporate Support IT: 7 roles, including Backend/Frontend Development, Data Architecture, Database, Information Security and Product Management Global Insight Track Openings: 7 roles B2B Sales Management, Platform Operations, Private Brand (PB) Platform Operations, PB Marketing, On-site Marketing, Product Management and UI/UX Design Eligibility: Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements: - Hold a qualifying speaking test score in a designated foreign language - Have lived in a designated language region for at least four years - Hold at least a bachelor’s degree from a designated country Recruitment Information Session Date & Time: September 21, 2026, 1:00–5:30 p.m. Location: Grand Hall, CJ Human Resources Center, 26 Pildong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul For more information, visit the CJ Group Recruitment website, OLIVE YOUNG’s recruitment blog at career.oliveyoung.com, or OLIVE YOUNG’s recruitment Instagram account, @oliveyoung_recruit. -

press releaseCJ OLIVE YOUNG is expanding its in-store experiential beauty services to mobile with the launch of a new skin analysis service that allows customers to assess their skin condition using a smartphone and receive personalized skincare recommendations, further enhancing its omnichannel shopping experience. The mobile skin analysis service brings OLIVE YOUNG’s in-store experiential beauty service, SKIN SCAN, to the OLIVE YOUNG app in Korea. SKIN SCAN uses a dedicated in-store device to capture and analyze customers’ skin, then provides personalized product and skincare recommendations based on the results. With the launch of the mobile service, customers can now check their skin condition and receive recommendations for a personalized skincare routine anytime, anywhere, without visiting a store. Another benefit is the ability to repeat the analysis whenever needed, allowing customers to track changes in their skin over time. Skin condition can vary depending on factors such as the season, lifestyle habits and the cosmetics used. By reassessing their skin regularly, customers can also easily discover products suited to their current skin condition. OLIVE YOUNG has been expanding its experiential beauty services since introducing SKIN SCAN at select stores, beginning with its Starfield Goyang Town store in April 2024. Late last year, OLIVE YOUNG connected SKIN SCAN with the app as part of its omnichannel services, allowing customers to view diagnostic results and personalized routines in the app that were previously available only through the dedicated in-store device. The new mobile skin analysis service takes this one step further, enabling customers to move beyond a one-time in-store experience and continue caring for their skin as part of their everyday routine. Using the mobile skin analysis service is simple. After completing a short questionnaire about their perceived skin condition, customers can take a photo of their face with their smartphone or select an existing photo. AI then analyzes their skin condition. In addition to identifying skin type, the service provides detailed results across areas such as pores, pigmentation, hydration, oiliness and wrinkles. For each area, the service provides information on potential causes and helpful skincare tips in a Q&A format, while recommending products by category that may help address individual concerns. It also suggests a personalized skincare routine spanning cleansing, skincare and sun care. The mobile skin analysis service can be accessed through the SKIN SCAN icon on the OLIVE YOUNG app’s home screen or under the OLIVE YOUNG Stores tab at the bottom of the app. To celebrate the launch, OLIVE YOUNG is also offering a range of promotions. Through September 30, customers who complete the mobile skin analysis and view their results will receive discounts on select skincare products. Customers who sign up for a reminder to repeat the analysis will also receive additional Olive Points. At select OLIVE YOUNG stores, customers who show their mobile skin analysis results and make a purchase of KRW 30,000 or more will receive a complimentary kit containing skincare samples, available on a first-come, first-served basis. OLIVE YOUNG plans to continue enhancing the service so customers can take a more personalized approach to self-care based on their individual skin condition and habits. Additional features will be introduced throughout the year, including a “Skin Change Report” that provides an at-a-glance view of changes in skin condition, product recommendations based on customers’ everyday skincare routines, and personal color analysis. “Customers can now regularly monitor changes in their skin through the mobile service in their everyday lives, while visiting our stores when they need a more detailed analysis, giving them the flexibility to move seamlessly between online and offline beauty experiences based on their needs,” said an OLIVE YOUNG representative. “Going forward, we will continue to connect the strengths of our online and offline channels to deliver a differentiated omnichannel shopping experience.” Meanwhile, OLIVE YOUNG recently completed trademark registration for SKIN SCAN as part of its efforts to further systematize and strengthen the expertise of its in-store diagnostic services. OLIVE YOUNG currently offers one-on-one consultations with professional beauty consultants as well as self-service diagnostic options in its stores. The company plans to continue expanding its diagnostic services by specializing and diversifying its self-diagnosis lineup into three areas: SKIN SCAN for facial skin, SCALP SCAN for scalp care, and SKIN SCAN Color Fit for personal color analysis. Through these efforts, OLIVE YOUNG will continue to expand personalized beauty consulting services across both its online and offline channels. -

press releaseCJ OLIVE YOUNG is accelerating its efforts to establish Busan as a key K-beauty destination outside the Seoul metropolitan area, opening two new stores tailored to the distinct characteristics of the city’s major commercial districts: a large-scale town store and a design-focused location. On September 28, OLIVE YOUNG completed the relocation and expansion of OLIVE YOUNG Nampo Town in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu, Busan, making it the largest OLIVE YOUNG town store outside the Seoul metropolitan area. On September 30, it will also open OLIVE YOUNG Millac the Market in Millak-dong, Suyeong-gu, a design-focused store created to capture the character of Busan and offer a distinctive retail experience. OLIVE YOUNG’s decision to make Busan a key K-beauty hub outside the Seoul metropolitan area comes amid a sharp increase in international visitors to the city. Busan welcomed 3.1 million international tourists last year, the highest number among Korean cities outside Seoul. The growth has continued this year, with 2.42 million international visitors arriving in the first half of 2026, up 43.9% from the same period last year. The number of cruise tourists visiting Busan has also risen sharply. Cruise arrivals are expected to reach 990,000 this year, nearly four times the 257,000 recorded in 2025. OLIVE YOUNG Millac the Market From K-beauty to K-tourism: Millac the Market brings the OLIVE YOUNG experience to the waterfront The waterfront commercial district stretching from Gwangalli Beach to Millak-dong—including OLIVE YOUNG Gwangalli Beach, Gwangalli and Busan Gwangan Station—has seen a particularly notable increase in international visitors. Foreign customer sales across the district grew by an average of 212% annually from 2023 to 2025. Located at the heart of this waterfront district, Millac the Market, a cultural and lifestyle complex, is now home to OLIVE YOUNG’s latest design-focused store. The new Millac the Market location demonstrates OLIVE YOUNG’s evolving retail strategy, which combines the distinctive character of a local destination with content that can become part of the tourism experience. The store is built around the concept of the "OLIVE YOUNG Ho," a fictional ship loaded with seasonal K-beauty products and docked at Millak Port. The space recreates the lively atmosphere of a bustling fish market, with harbor-inspired elements such as fishing nets, boats and posters greeting customers at the entrance. These details blend naturally with views of Gwangan Bridge and Millak Port outside the store, offering a distinctly Busan experience. The store also takes a more unconventional approach to product presentation. Color cosmetics and food products are displayed in a market-style setting, while some products are presented in bulk-style boxes, moving beyond OLIVE YOUNG’s traditional retail display formats. Reflecting the lifestyles of both the local customers in their 20s and 30s and international visitors who frequent Millac the Market, the store also offers a differentiated selection of food and beverage products alongside K-beauty. It is the first OLIVE YOUNG store to introduce freezers, while snacks, inner beauty products and wellness items are positioned along customer routes designed around visitors enjoying the cultural complex late into the evening. The store will also operate until 11 p.m., extending its hours to accommodate the vibrant nighttime activity in the area and make shopping more convenient for visitors. OLIVE YOUNG Nampo Town Busan’s historic Nampo district gets the largest OLIVE YOUNG town store outside Seoul While Millac the Market showcases the distinctive character of Busan’s waterfront, Nampo Town is designed as a comprehensive destination where customers can explore and experience K-beauty in depth. OLIVE YOUNG has built a strong presence in Nampo-dong since opening its first store outside the Seoul metropolitan area in Busan in 2008. In response to growing demand from both local and international customers, the company has now relocated and significantly expanded the store. The new Nampo Town has grown from a single-floor location to a four-story store, with its footprint increasing more than fourfold. It has also moved to a prime location along Nampo-dong’s main street, with plans to establish the store as a landmark in the district. Nampo Town was modeled after OLIVE YOUNG’s flagship global-focused store, Central Myeongdong Town. Its layout and operations have been carefully designed around the shopping patterns of international visitors, drawing on customer data to tailor the experience. The store is the first OLIVE YOUNG location outside the Seoul metropolitan area to have three beauty consultants on site, offering skin analysis and personalized consultations. It also features an Advanced Derma zone and a Mask Pack Library, two categories that are particularly popular among international visitors. The store has also expanded product displays to ensure that international customers can easily find and pick up popular items without products selling out from the shelves. During specific daytime hours when cruise tourists are expected to arrive in large numbers, additional staff will be deployed to provide more efficient customer assistance. OLIVE YOUNG plans to continue investing in commercial districts outside the Seoul metropolitan area to expand K-beauty landmarks across the country. In addition to major tourist destinations such as Jeju, the company plans to expand anchor stores in key areas across Gangwon, Gyeongsang and Jeolla provinces where international visitor numbers are growing. Through these locations, OLIVE YOUNG aims to strengthen engagement with international customers while contributing to the development of regional tourism infrastructure centered around K-beauty. “Busan, where international tourists from around the world come together, is one of the key stages for taking K-beauty global,” said an OLIVE YOUNG representative. “We will continue to drive innovation in our offline stores by combining the unique character of each local commercial district with detailed customer insights, with the goal of establishing OLIVE YOUNG as a shopping landmark representing K-tourism beyond the Seoul metropolitan area.” -

press releaseInternational sales milestone reached three months earlier than last year as tourist traffic across Korea continues to grow CJ OLIVE YOUNG announced that cumulative purchases by international customers at its offline stores in Korea surpassed KRW 1 trillion as of August, reaching the milestone three months earlier than last year as its network of “K-beauty landmarks” across the country continues to encourage international visitors to explore destinations beyond Seoul. From January through August, global customers made 11.01 million purchases, meaning that, based on store operating hours, an international customer made a purchase at an OLIVE YOUNG store approximately every 0.9 seconds.* According to tax refund data from Global Tax Free (GTF), global customers shopping at OLIVE YOUNG stores came from 192 countries. As OLIVE YOUNG has become a must-visit destination for K-beauty shopping, global customers’ share of total offline store sales has also risen significantly, from just 2% in 2022 to 33% as of August this year. The top five countries by number of purchases this year were the United States, Singapore, Japan, China and Thailand (listed in alphabetical order). Customers purchased an average of six products spanning K-beauty and K-wellness, while 35% spent more than KRW 100,000 per visit. Skincare was the most popular category, followed by makeup and hair care. Global customer sales surge 105% in Gangwon Province, while Gyeongju, Daejeon and Jeonju also see strong growth International customer sales at OLIVE YOUNG stores outside the Seoul metropolitan area have also grown notably. From January through August this year, global customer sales increased 47% year over year nationwide. In Gangwon Province, sales to global customers jumped 105%, while traditionally domestic tourist destinations such as Gyeongju, Daejeon and Jeonju also recorded growth well above the national average, at 88%, 80% and 62%, respectively. The number of nationalities visiting OLIVE YOUNG stores in regional areas has also increased. In Gangwon Province, customers came from 85 countries this year, up from 76 last year, while Gyeongju saw the number rise from 88 to 100 countries. The figures point to a broader trend of international visitors expanding their travel beyond the Seoul metropolitan area. This shift has been driven in part by OLIVE YOUNG’s expansion of large “town” stores averaging more than 660 square meters (approximately 7,100 square feet) in size, as well as specialty stores that reflect the character of their respective regions. Rather than limiting their shopping to major commercial areas in Seoul, international visitors are increasingly incorporating OLIVE YOUNG’s key stores across Korea into their travel itineraries. Global customers are also showing a tendency to visit multiple stores during a trip rather than completing all of their shopping at a single location. In a survey conducted by OLIVE YOUNG in May among international visitors to stores in its global tourism commercial districts, respondents said they visited an average of 2.8 OLIVE YOUNG stores per person. OLIVE YOUNG is developing its offline stores as showcases where competitive K-beauty and K-wellness brands can connect with consumers from around the world. By analyzing factors such as the number of international customers and their share of sales, OLIVE YOUNG has designated areas with high concentrations of international visitors as “OLIVE YOUNG Global Tourism Commercial Districts.” At these stores, the company prioritizes multilingual staff and provides signage in multiple languages to make shopping more convenient for international visitors. As of August, 151 OLIVE YOUNG stores nationwide were designated as Global Tourism Commercial District stores, accounting for more than 10% of all stores. For small and emerging indie brands, being stocked at OLIVE YOUNG can help introduce their products to international customers from more than 190 countries. In the past, global customers largely made “destination purchases,” seeking out specific products that had already gained popularity through word of mouth in their home countries. More recently, however, growing interest in OLIVE YOUNG’s broader product curation has led more international visitors to discover and purchase new products during their trips. This is creating more opportunities for small and indie brands that have yet to build strong awareness overseas to connect with consumers around the world through OLIVE YOUNG. Expanding regional stores and improving convenience for international shoppers OLIVE YOUNG plans to continue expanding stores outside the Seoul metropolitan area, maximizing each location’s unique character and offering differentiated experiences. The goal is to establish “K-beauty landmarks” that international visitors will want to seek out as they travel beyond Seoul, while offering a distinct and varied shopping experience at each location. In major destinations such as Busan and Jeju, OLIVE YOUNG will continue expanding large-scale renovations and locally tailored stores to meet rapidly growing tourism demand. Through these efforts, the company aims to encourage international visitors to explore more destinations across Korea, revitalize local commercial districts and bring new energy to the tourism industry outside the Seoul metropolitan area. OLIVE YOUNG will also continue improving the shopping experience for international visitors. Its AI Shopping Assistant, introduced at select Seoul stores in June, supports voice interactions in eight languages: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, German, Russian, Thai and Indonesian. By the end of the year, OLIVE YOUNG plans to analyze the nationality, age groups, preferences and travel purposes of global customers by commercial district and make broader improvements to store operations, enabling customers to enjoy a more personalized shopping experience. “As Korea enters an era of 20 million international visitors, we will strengthen our role as infrastructure for the K-tourism industry by leveraging large-scale and locally distinctive stores not only in Seoul but also across the country,” said an OLIVE YOUNG representative. “In Korea, our goal is to introduce K-beauty and K-wellness to international visitors, while in the U.S., we aim to connect local consumers with these categories and help nurture emerging brands, contributing to the continued growth of the industry.” K-derma skincare sales surge, while functional K-hair care emerges as a new trend Skincare, a traditional strength of K-beauty, has remained a staple among international shoppers. This year, K-derma products have been particularly notable. Sales of K-derma skincare, a category rooted in dermatological science, increased approximately 78% year over year among global customers from January through August. The growth reflects demand from international consumers looking not only to beauty tourism but also to address specific skin concerns as part of their daily skincare routines. In response to growing global interest in functional skincare, OLIVE YOUNG has recently begun developing “Advanced Derma,” an evolved category that takes K-derma one step further. The company has developed and curated daily-use skincare products in collaboration with the product IP of six leading Korean pharmaceutical companies. Functional K-hair care is also emerging as a new trend among international visitors. While international customers account for approximately 18% of total hair care sales, their share rises to 28% for hair tonics and ampoules, well above the category average. Scalp-soothing and hair-loss-care products from brands such as LABO-H and LILLYVE, particularly those in convenient formats such as roll-ons and brushes, have attracted strong interest. Inner beauty products have also maintained their popularity amid the growing wellness trend. Global customer sales in the inner beauty category increased 64% year over year through August. Popular products included Olive Lemon Shot, slimming jellies, pumpkin tea and collagen products. Olive Better, the wellness curation platform launched this year, has also emerged as a popular destination for K-wellness shopping, with global customers accounting for more than 40% of its sales. Hand care products, which make popular travel gifts, have also become an OLIVE YOUNG must-buy, with international customers accounting for 40% of total category sales. Perfumed hand creams from brands including BEYOND, HETRAS and W.DRESSROOM have been particularly popular, offering a wide range of fragrances. “Even in skincare, a category where we have traditionally been strong, interest is rapidly shifting toward functional products designed to address specific skin concerns rather than simply provide general care,” noted an OLIVE YOUNG representative. “It is also noteworthy that K-beauty consumption is expanding beyond skincare into areas such as hair care and inner beauty.” *Based on a simple calculation assuming stores operate 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. -

press releaseCJ OLIVE YOUNG announced today that it will launch a large-scale collaboration campaign with Sanrio Characters, a globally popular character IP (intellectual property), following the success of last year’s campaign. Running for one month from August 30 to September 30, this year’s campaign is themed “OLIVE YOUNG City Log.” For the campaign, OLIVE YOUNG has developed original visual assets featuring Sanrio Characters exploring Korea’s cities and enjoying local lifestyles. By adding a distinctly Korean local touch to the content, OLIVE YOUNG aims to offer customers in Korea and around the world a fresh and engaging shopping experience. The campaign’s designs incorporate a range of current trends tailored to the tastes of OLIVE YOUNG’s core 15 to 29-year-old customer base. These include school uniforms, the pixel graphics that have recently gained popularity, and streetwear featuring leopard prints. OLIVE YOUNG has also created a “Hanbok Hello Kitty,” inspired by the growing interest among international visitors in experiencing hanbok, Korea’s traditional attire. The design incorporates traditional Korean colors and distinctive elements of hanbok into the character’s look. The campaign will also feature location-specific assets inspired by 12 destinations across Korea: Gangneung, Gongju, Gimcheon, Daegwallyeong, Daejeon, Boseong, Busan, Seoul, Suwon, Yeonggwang, Udo, and Jeonju. Each design incorporates a local specialty associated with its region, such as Jeonju bibimbap, Gongju chestnuts, and Udo peanuts. These assets will be featured not only on collaboration products and merchandise, but also across store exteriors and photo zones at select locations. Visitors from Korea and abroad will be able to experience OLIVE YOUNG stores transformed with designs unique to each region, turning the stores themselves into destinations to explore as part of their travels. Building on these new creative assets, OLIVE YOUNG has expanded this year’s Sanrio Characters collaboration to its largest scale yet. A total of 81 brands will participate, a 170% increase from last year, with the number of collaboration products growing 50% to 321. The scope of the collaboration has also expanded beyond beauty into wellness and lifestyle. The campaign will also reach more customers through an expanded retail footprint. Collaboration products will be available not only in Korea but across all regions served by the OLIVE YOUNG Global Mall. They will also be made available through OLIVE YOUNG’s newly opened U.S. stores and online store. The expansion builds on the strong results of last year’s campaign. During the Sanrio Characters “Tanning Edition” campaign in July 2025, participating brands saw their sales increase by 60% year over year, while the campaign’s pop-up store welcomed 33,000 visitors over three weeks, the highest attendance recorded for an OLIVE YOUNG pop-up at the time. Notably, 33% of OLIVE YOUNG members aged 15–29 purchased collaboration products during the campaign, demonstrating how strong interest among the retailer’s core customer base translated into actual purchases. This year, OLIVE YOUNG will once again use the collaboration as an opportunity to drive mutual growth with its partner brands. OLIVE YOUNG will cover the full cost of the IP licensing fees, enabling small and midsize K-beauty and wellness partners with limited resources or infrastructure to focus on product development. With sales channels now expanded to all regions of the OLIVE YOUNG Global Mall as well as OLIVE YOUNG’s online and offline stores in the U.S., participating brands are expected to benefit not only from increased sales, but also from greater awareness and visibility among customers worldwide. “Building on the proven success of last year’s collaboration with Sanrio Characters, we have developed an evolved campaign this year by leveraging OLIVE YOUNG’s expertise in trend analysis and its design capabilities,” said an OLIVE YOUNG representative. “We will continue to expand our collaborations beyond beauty into wellness and lifestyle, strengthening a model that enables us to grow together with an even broader range of partner brands.” -

The festival also benefited from its collaboration with KCON, which has built a strong K-culture following in the U.S. By connecting with KCON fans, the festival attracted not only highly engaged K-beauty consumers but also visitors who were less familiar with K-beauty, giving them a chance to discover and experience it firsthand. The festival also served as a platform to support the global growth of small and independent K-beauty brands through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)’s overseas expansion support program for retailers. A K-beauty playground filled with hands-on experiences The sound of a Seoul subway station greeted visitors as they entered the festival. Inside, the streets of Gangnam, Seongsu, Myeongdong and Hongdae—some of Seoul’s best-known K-beauty destinations and trendsetting neighborhoods—were recreated throughout the venue. With Korean street signs, bus stops and crosswalks, the space gave visitors plenty of opportunities to take photos and create short-form videos while exploring the festival. At the center of the venue, the ‘OLIVE YOUNG Store’ recreated the in-store shopping experience, drawing crowds eager to explore trending K-beauty products. The skincare section was organized around a Korean skincare routine, with products curated in sequence from double cleansing and toner pads to serums and sun care, allowing visitors to compare and try a variety of products from cleansing through sun protection. The experiential service area was one of the festival’s most popular destinations. The ‘My Color Vibe’ zone, which provided personalized product recommendations based on personal color analysis, drew long lines throughout the event. SKIN SCAN, which assessed visitors’ skin conditions and provided personalized solution kits to customers who purchased a beauty box at the festival, was also met with strong interest. By connecting curated product selections with personalized experiences, OLIVE YOUNG made it easy for visitors to explore the step-by-step approach that defines Korean skincare while helping them understand and discover solutions suited to their individual needs. Leslie, who drove three hours from San Diego to attend the festival, said, “I’ve been trying all kinds of skincare products here, from gel pads to creams that are known for their lifting effects. I also heard that OLIVE YOUNG has opened stores in the U.S., and I definitely want to visit one to discover more products and brands and learn more about K-beauty.” Bringing K-beauty brands closer to U.S. consumers The festival also gave small and independent brands that have entered the U.S. market an opportunity to engage directly with local consumers and build brand awareness. All participating brands are K-beauty brands carried at OLIVE YOUNG stores in the U.S. Each brand operated its own booth, showcasing its products through demonstrations and interactive activities that gave consumers a firsthand look at the brands and their products. Cho Yong-hoon, CEO of Bitelab, which operates haircare brand lilyeve, said, “Brands don’t often get many opportunities to meet their actual customers, especially customers in the U.S. It was valuable to meet them in person through the festival and learn more about how they discovered our brand and what interests them. Planning a large-scale event independently can require significant time and resources, but OLIVE YOUNG FESTA gave us an efficient way to connect with local consumers.” The ‘Beauty & Health Deep Dive,’ an experiential educational program held twice a day at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. during the first two days of the festival, also helped brands engage more deeply with local consumers and build connections with potential fans. Brand representatives took to the stage to introduce products that may be unfamiliar to local consumers, such as cleansing milk with a lotion-like texture and scalp ampoules in a brush format, while explaining how to use them correctly. Consumers actively joined the conversation, asking questions about products they had been curious about. The festival also gained additional visibility through its connection with KCON, which has built a strong presence for K-culture in the U.S. over the years. The partnership brought in visitors who had not previously been exposed to K-beauty, creating an opportunity for interest in K-culture to naturally expand beyond music and entertainment into K-beauty and lifestyle. “This festival was a meaningful opportunity for K-beauty brands that entered the U.S. market with OLIVE YOUNG to meet local consumers directly and build trust and connections with them," said an OLIVE YOUNG representative said. "We will continue to expand opportunities for Korean brands to connect with customers around the world and strengthen our role as a platform supporting the growth of the K-beauty ecosystem in the U.S.” Launched in 2019, OLIVE YOUNG FESTA is Korea’s first beauty festival, bringing participating brands and consumers together through product showcases and a variety of interactive content. Starting this year, OLIVE YOUNG FESTA is evolving into a global world tour, bringing the festival experience that has been loved by consumers in Korea to major cities around the world. The first international edition was held in the U.S. [Additional visitor interviews] Michelle / Alberta, Canada “I flew more than three hours from Canada to LA for KCON. I became interested in K-beauty because I’m a huge fan of K-pop idol groups. This was my first time at OLIVE YOUNG FESTA, and I enjoyed being able to explore booths across different categories, from skincare, which I already love, to haircare and inner beauty.” Dianthe / California “As a K-pop fan, I became interested in K-culture, including K-beauty. I’m really enjoying exploring the festival because each zone has a different concept. I’ve been to Korea before and the whole venue, from the Korean signs to the bus stops, was designed to look like a Korean street. It was so much fun and brought back memories of my trip to Korea.” Chelsea / Los Angeles “I’ve been a K-beauty fan for a long time, so I came to KCON specifically to attend OLIVE YOUNG FESTA. I’m so happy that OLIVE YOUNG has opened stores in the U.S. I used to buy K-beauty products only through Amazon, but now I can test and purchase them in person at a store. I also tried SKIN SCAN for the first time at the festival. It was quick and convenient. You just take a few photos and answer a few simple questions, and it gives you a detailed analysis of your skin, including things like pores and wrinkles.” Julie / California “I came to the festival with my mother, and it was interesting to experience Korean culture here. I’d love to visit Korea with my mom someday.” [Additional brand interviews] Jooyeon Song / Head of Cosmetics & COO at PharmaResearch USA “It was meaningful to connect with U.S. consumers through OLIVE YOUNG’s stores and festival after working together for many years in Korea. For K-beauty to become mainstream in the U.S., it takes the efforts of many players across the K-beauty ecosystem, and I believe OLIVE YOUNG is playing an important role in that process. We look forward to continuing to work with OLIVE YOUNG to expand the reach of K-beauty in the U.S.” Sohyun Kim / Brand Manager at Donga Pharmaceutical's Ailo “Being carried at OLIVE YOUNG’s U.S. stores has been a great help in introducing our brand to the U.S. market. Our brand is still relatively new to consumers in the U.S., but one visitor to our booth told us that they had discovered our product at OLIVE YOUNG and had been taking it consistently for four months. It was fascinating to see how simply having our products on OLIVE YOUNG’s shelves could lead to purchases. This was our first time participating in OLIVE YOUNG FESTA, and it made the experience even more meaningful to meet customers in the U.S. who are already using our products and hear their stories firsthand.” -

press releaseCJ OLIVE YOUNG is expanding customer touchpoints for its Advanced Derma category, accelerating efforts to grow the K-Derma market. Just four months after launching Advanced Derma, OLIVE YOUNG has expanded dedicated displays to 650 stores nationwide and is strengthening experiential content to give customers more opportunities to discover and experience the category. Advanced Derma is a high-performance skincare category developed by OLIVE YOUNG in partnership with Korean pharmaceutical companies, designed to bring specialized skincare into everyday routines. Having discovered and nurtured K-Derma brands since 2011, OLIVE YOUNG launched the Advanced Derma category in late March in response to growing interest in high-performance skincare, expanding professional skincare into everyday beauty routines. The company aims to make high-performance skincare more accessible while establishing “daily derma care” as an emerging trend and broadening the scope of the beauty market. Since its launch, Advanced Derma has seen rapid growth, emerging as a new growth driver for the K-Derma market. Sales in June increased by more than 260% compared with April, the first full month following the category’s launch. Interest from global customers is also growing rapidly. Foreign customers account for approximately 70% of sales, driven in part by growing demand for professional skincare treatments in Korea. The Advanced Derma Beauty Consulting service, recently introduced at Beauty Mansion Seongsu, has also received a strong response, with more than 80% of users being international customers. This growth has been driven by a customer experience that combines expertise with accessibility. OLIVE YOUNG has provided Advanced Derma training for employees at stores in major tourist areas, enabling them to offer personalized consultations based on individual skin concerns. The company has also increased accessibility through a range of promotions and experiential elements. Building on this momentum, OLIVE YOUNG is expanding customer touchpoints in a variety of ways as it works to establish Advanced Derma as a core skincare category. In its offline stores, OLIVE YOUNG launched Advanced Derma and introduced dedicated displays at Central Myeongdong Town, its largest global-focused store, before expanding the category to stores in major tourist districts and areas with high demand for professional beauty care. Advanced Derma is now available at 650 stores, or roughly half of all OLIVE YOUNG stores nationwide. The company has also developed a range of experiential content to make it easier for customers to explore Advanced Derma. Through September 30, OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu is hosting a pop-up store featuring 16 products from leading brands including Dongkook Pharmaceutical, Dong-A Pharmaceutical and REJURAN. Visitors can use the SKIN SCAN self-service skin analysis device to assess their skin and receive personalized product recommendations, while customers who visit or make a purchase can also receive samples through an on-site promotion. OLIVE YOUNG is also expanding its touchpoints with international customers by showcasing Advanced Derma products on the OLIVE YOUNG Global, making it easier for customers overseas to purchase the products. OLIVE YOUNG Global is currently featuring a dedicated promotion that brings together Advanced Derma products and offers them at discounted prices. OLIVE YOUNG will continue its efforts to broaden the K-Derma market, with Advanced Derma at the center of its strategy. The company plans to gradually expand the number of stores offering the category, while also bringing more pharmaceutical companies into the initiative and diversifying its product lineup to give customers a wider range of options. “Advanced Derma represents a new standard in high-performance daily skincare that combines OLIVE YOUNG’s customer data-driven expertise in category planning with the technical capabilities of pharmaceutical companies, allowing consumers to enjoy specialized care with confidence,” said an OLIVE YOUNG representative. “We will continue to explore new ways to support the growth of K-beauty, including introducing categories tailored to customers’ diverse skin concerns and lifestyles.”
