Our original 'career stories' series takes a closer look at the teams behind OLIVE YOUNG. In this edition, we meet the E-Commerce Business Team at OLIVE YOUNG USA, the team helping shape OLIVE YOUNG’s e-commerce business for customers in the U.S. From understanding local customer needs to building an online shopping experience tailored to the U.S. market, their work is helping lay the foundation for OLIVE YOUNG’s growth in one of its key global markets. We spoke with the team to learn more about what they do, how they work together, and the kind of colleagues they hope to work alongside.

Q. What is the E-Commerce Business Team?
The E-Commerce Business Team leads and owns OLIVE YOUNG’s U.S. online channel, responsible for building, operating, and scaling the business end-to-end.
The team connects commercial strategy, customer acquisition, onsite experience, CRM, membership, and platform optimization to drive sustainable online growth.
Working closely with merchandising, platform, tech, offline retail and Korea HQ, the team translates OLIVE YOUNG’s global capabilities into a localized U.S. e-commerce experience. At the same time, it continuously adapts to local customer behavior, platform trends, and competitive dynamics.
Ultimately, the team’s mission is to build a high-performing, data-driven commerce platform that drives sustainable growth across acquisition, conversion, and retention.
Q. What does the E-Commerce Business Team do?
The team drives the growth of OLIVE YOUNG’s U.S. online business by managing the full customer funnel, from acquisition and onsite engagement to conversion, retention, and loyalty.
Rather than operating as a single-function marketing team, the E-Commerce Business Team works as the digital growth engine for the U.S. market. It builds the commercial roadmap, plans promotion strategy, optimizes the customer journey, and connects marketing, merchandising, membership, and platform initiatives into one integrated growth plan.
As OLIVE YOUNG expands in the U.S. through both offline retail and online commerce, the team also plays a key role in connecting digital and offline customer experiences.
Q. Key functions and roles within the team
The U.S. Commerce Team consists of diverse roles that work together to operate and grow the business:
- Strategy & Planning / Business Planning: Drive business growth by analyzing the end-to-end customer funnel, identifying opportunities, and shaping the strategic roadmap for the U.S. e-commerce business
- Onsite Marketing: Plan and optimize onsite campaigns, promotional pages, and customer touchpoints to improve engagement, conversion, and GMV
- Performance & Affiliate Marketing: Manage paid media and affiliate channels to acquire qualified customers, improve ROAS, and scale efficient traffic growth
- CRM & Lifecycle Marketing: Drive user growth by analyzing customer behavior across the platform, optimizing page-level and journey-level performance, and developing data-driven CRM initiatives that improve engagement, conversion, retention, and customer lifetime value
- Membership Marketing: Design and manage integrated membership programs, including tiers, rewards, and benefits, to strengthen customer loyalty and drive long-term engagement
Q. What are the key skills for this role?
To succeed in this team, you need to be comfortable working with data, identifying business issues, and turning insights into clear actions that improve performance.
Equally important are:
- Executional excellence to bring strategy into action
- Agility to navigate a fast-changing global and local market
- A collaborative mindset to work across multiple functions and regions
- A strong point of view and ownership to drive business outcomes
Q. What career growth can you expect?
Early on, you will build a strong foundation through hands-on experience in e-commerce operations and performance optimization, developing both market understanding and execution capabilities.
Over time, you will take on greater ownership of key business metrics and growth strategy in the U.S., while leading cross-functional initiatives across marketing, merchandising, and platform teams. As the business expands, you will also play a role in shaping localization strategies for new markets.
Ultimately, this path can lead to broader opportunities spanning global commerce strategy, category expansion, and market leadership across regions.
