A bag may hold the things we reach for every day, but open it up and you may find a glimpse into someone’s routines, preferences, and expertise. As part of 'what’s in my bag,' an original content series by 'editorial by OLIVE YOUNG', we take a closer look at what OLIVE YOUNG employees carry with them, from everyday essentials to new discoveries, and the stories behind what they reach for every day.

“You know when you’ve found the right product. In the end, premium comes down to product quality that’s a cut above.”

Today, we’re looking into the makeup bag of Y, who leads the Luxe Edit team, the team behind OLIVE YOUNG’s premium beauty destination, Luxe Edit. From established luxury names to emerging premium beauty brands, the team is expanding the spectrum of beauty through OLIVE YOUNG’s distinct point of view.

To mark Luxe Edit’s third anniversary last July, we delved into Y’s makeup bag to discover the products that have earned a permanent place in her rotation.

Q. Luxe Edit has already reached its third anniversary! What does the milestone mean to you?

It really does feel special. I’ve been leading the Luxe Edit team for more than a year now, which means I’ve had the chance to try so many of the products we carry. And when I’m cleaning out my makeup bag, I always find that the products that stay are the ones I’ve personally used and come to trust.

Trends are important, but when a product is genuinely good, you naturally keep reaching for it. To celebrate Luxe Edit’s third anniversary, we prepared a full month of special experiences in July, from brand pop-ups with MAC, Yunjac and Kérastase to limited-edition gifts and exclusive benefits. I hope more customers have the chance to discover and enjoy the products at Luxe Edit.

Q. Your lip products caught our eye first. What kind of makeup have you been enjoying lately?

Lately, there’s been a trend toward those soft, muted shades that look almost like your natural lip color, but a little more polished. They’re even more understated than the classic MLBB look.

One of my current favorites is MAC Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in Hug Me. It’s a pinky nude-brown that works beautifully across different skin tones, and I love how smoothly it applies and how naturally the color looks on the lips. Every time I use it, I’m reminded why MAC is one of my go-to brands for lip products.

Q. Your complexion looks incredibly natural yet polished. What’s your secret?

I’d recommend YUNJAC Skin Perfecting Base Prep Fitting Cushion. It feels incredibly lightweight, almost as if you’re not wearing anything, but leaves a subtle glow that makes your natural skin look even better. It gives you that almost “actress skin” kind of radiance.

Base-prep products have been trending lately, but I think this one really stands out for its texture and application. I’m always recommending it to friends and colleagues and telling them to give it a try.

Q. Do you have a must-have product you always keep in your bag for important meetings?

On those important days, I always reach for Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation. It gives the skin a smooth, polished finish and doesn’t darken much throughout the day, so it helps keep my complexion looking clean and refined from start to finish. It’s easy to see why it has remained a longtime favorite. It really lives up to its reputation.

Q. Is there a hidden gem you’ve discovered that you think more people should know about?

It’s not a Luxe Edit product, but Dinto Blur-Finish Eyeshadow in 701 Jane Austen. The compact contains just the essential contouring shades you need, so it’s perfect for taking with you wherever you go. TThe shades apply beautifully and blend easily, with virtually no fallout. Out of all the eyeshadow palettes I own, it’s the one that has managed to stay in my makeup bag the longest.

Q. We also spot quite a few Laura Mercier products in your bag.

It’s one of the brands I genuinely love because it really makes you appreciate what premium beauty can offer.

I especially like pairing the Blush Color Infusion Duo in Chai with the Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight. Together, they bring out the skin’s natural flush while adding a subtle, sophisticated glow. To me, they’re a great example of what makes Luxe Edit special.

Q. Finally, what does Luxe Edit mean to you?

To me, premium isn’t simply about products that come with a higher price tag. It’s about offering customers a higher level of product quality and a differentiated beauty experience.

Through Luxe Edit, I want to continue expanding the spectrum of beauty that OLIVE YOUNG can offer, and help customers discover products that feel truly worth reaching for again and again.
