E has been passionate about makeup since childhood and has built her expertise through a degree in beauty convergence, along with certifications in cosmetology, personal color analysis, barbering, and scalp care. Meeting dozens of customers from Korea and around the world every day, she has developed a close eye for emerging makeup trends and the product combinations that really work. Here, she shares some of her current color makeup favorites and the tried-and-true essentials in her bag. (Interview conducted in March 2026.) Q. A beauty consultant’s bag sounds like it must be full of good finds. Before we take a look inside, could you tell us a little about the makeup services offered by the Beauty Consultant Makeup Team at OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu? Our team offers four main one-on-one beauty consultation services: Quick Touch-Up, Men’s Makeup, Find Your Color (personal color), and Full Makeup. We help customers explore the makeup techniques they’ve always wanted to try and show them how to apply them themselves. Our most popular service is Quick Touch-Up, a 15-minute consultation where customers can choose an area they’d like to touch up, such as lips, eyes, base makeup, or brows. We see more than 15 customers a day, both on weekdays and weekends. Recently, we’ve also been seeing more international visitors interested in K-beauty, who come in to try techniques like contouring and eyeliner application. Q. Since you work so closely with customers every day, you must have a good sense of what’s trending. What makeup trend are you seeing everywhere lately? Definitely “baked fruit” shades. In the past, makeup trends leaned toward bright, soft corals and pinks. These days, we’re seeing more muted, slightly deeper neutral tones with a warm, sun-kissed feel. One product I highly recommend is the TOO SLASH FOUR All Over Face Blush in Burn Pink. It has that rich, baked-fruit color I love, with fine shimmer particles that add a subtle dimension to the cheeks without looking too sparkly. I’d describe it as a more sophisticated take on the juicy, fruit-inspired makeup look. Q. What color makeup products do customers reach for most in store, and do you have any tips you’ve picked up as a consultant? The too cool for school Frottage Pencil is still a popular choice, especially for adding definition to the under-eye area. Because it has a relatively dry pencil formula, though, some customers find that the color tends to fade as the day goes on. My trick is to apply THE SAEM Cover Perfection Concealer Pencil underneath it first. The concealer pencil creates a smooth, grippy base, so when you layer the Frottage Pencil on top, the color stays in place and keeps that subtle, luminous look for much longer. Q. Your eye makeup today looks amazing. Do you have any tips for getting that look? People often ask if I have eyelash extensions, but it’s actually thanks to CLIO Kill Lash Superproof Mascara Volume Curling. Unlike lengthening mascaras that use fibers to create extra length, this volume formula applies cleanly without clumping and has excellent staying power. When I want to make my lashes stand out even more, I alternate between Fillimilli Point Piece Eyelash No. 1 and No. 2. They’re easy to apply and provide good support, so I keep coming back to them. Another essential in my bag is Etude Bare Edge Makeup Multi Sealer. I use it to help extend the wear of eyeliner and the tails of my brows, and it’s one of my go-to tricks for keeping eye makeup in place. Q. Do you have any tips for anyone whose base makeup tends to look dry or patchy, especially in colder, drier weather? Even the best base makeup won’t sit well if your skin isn’t properly prepped. For me, dryness is usually the biggest reason makeup starts to look patchy, so after cleansing, I apply a generous amount of S.NATURE Aqua Squalane Moisturizing Cream and let it fully absorb. I’ve been using it since I was a teenager, and it’s one of my all-time favorites. It gives my skin plenty of hydration without feeling sticky, creating the perfect smooth base for makeup. The squalane also helps maintain the skin’s moisture balance, so I recommend it to anyone who struggles with small breakouts, too. Q.
