(Interviewed in June 2026)

Q. You’re one of the people closest to what customers around the world are into, so we were especially curious about what’s in your bag. Shall we take a look?

Maybe it’s a bit of an occupational hazard, but if I hear something is good, I have to try it. And if something looks cute, I can’t just walk past it. Since part of my job is keeping an eye on what customers in different markets like, I think I’ve naturally become even more interested in the trends I already loved.

Makeup products and a colorful drawstring pouch sit on a sunlit surface.

Q. The Pokémon collaboration pouch caught our eye right away.

I’m a huge fan of collaborations. But for me, they’re both a personal interest and part of my job. Japanese customers, in particular, tend to respond really well to collaboration products. Character IP is such a big market in Japan, so there’s a lot of potential when it comes together with K-beauty.

Some collaboration products are either unavailable or arrive much later on other retail platforms, which makes the OLIVE YOUNG Global Mall’s collaboration lineup especially popular in Japan. So when we create influencer content, we also put a lot of focus on these products. I think being able to offer these kinds of collaborations in the first place is one of the strengths of the platform.

Q. Speaking of character IP, is that a Mangom Edition Puff we see in your bag?

It’s the Studio17 Mangom collaboration puff. Honestly, I bought it because Mangom is just so cute, but Mangom collaboration products have also been a strong performer in Japan. The products themselves are great, but there’s also something about seeing a cute character every time you use them that just puts you in a good mood.

I like using the puff with JUNG SAEM MOOL base products because it has a nice surface area and helps everything adhere well.

Q. Your makeup preferences are more understated than we expected.

They are! I prefer makeup that lets the natural texture of the skin show through rather than creating a perfectly smooth, flawless finish.

JUNG SAEM MOOL Skin Setting Tone Correcting Base is perfect for me because I don’t like wearing heavy makeup. It evens out my complexion while also providing UV protection. This kind of natural-looking tone correction is also something that resonates well when we recommend products to Japanese customers, so after trying it myself, I added it to my list of products I’d highly recommend.

Q. We’re also seeing quite a lot of pink and peach shades in your bag.

I definitely have a spring warm palette! I love soft pinks, so I’m drawn to peachy makeup. When I want to put a little more effort into my look, I like using the colorgram All In One Aegyo-sal Maker with the too cool for school Eye Glitz to accentuate my under-eye area. For everyday makeup, I often reach for the colorgram Soft Persimmon Tint.

The Under Eye Maker was actually recommended by some of our Gen Z team members. Trends are constantly being shared within the team, too.

Q. And there’s another Hello Kitty collaboration in there!

It’s the WAKEMAKE Healthy Glow Balm Stick. It came with a Hello Kitty pin, so I couldn’t resist. It was sold out when I first tried to buy it, so I had to try several times before finally getting one. That makes me even more attached to it. I also love how natural the color looks.

Q. If you had to pick just one favorite from everything in your bag, what would it be?

The Hince True Dimension Radiance Balm in Tender Room. I’m a huge fan of blush, and this one gives the cheeks such a natural flush. It has a dewy finish that instantly makes my complexion look more alive, so it’s definitely one I recommend.

Q. We’re also curious about the wellness products you regularly keep up with.

I’m really interested in inner beauty and wellness, so I’m always trying different things. I keep coming back to the AILLO Type 1 Collagen Biotin Ampoule because it has an orange flavor, and the ONIST Kera Grow Mango is genuinely mango-flavored, so I never get tired of it.

I’ve learned that if something tastes good, you’re much more likely to keep taking it. I started taking it because I heard it could be good for my hair, and I’m starting to see the difference.

Q. Finally, as a content marketer who keeps a close eye on trends, what’s your goal for the future?

Our team is in a unique position because we’re among the people who see what customers around the world are interested in most closely. Since understanding what people like in each market is part of our job, we naturally end up looking more deeply into trends.

Looking ahead, I want more customers in more countries to start saying, in their own languages, “This is the era of the OLIVE YOUNG Global Mall.” I want to create more moments when the messages we put out come back to us in the customers’ own words.
