CJ OLIVE YOUNG announced on April 28 that it will launch “OLIVE YOUNG X Pokémon,” an IP (intellectual property) collaboration with Pokémon Korea running from May 1 to 30. The campaign will bring together exclusive products, themed spaces and interactive experiences across OLIVE YOUNG stores and online channels.

Celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary and Family Month in Korea, the collaboration goes beyond a conventional product tie-in to turn the entire shopping journey into an engaging experience. OLIVE YOUNG will connect interactive events and Pokémon products across its online and offline channels, transforming stores nationwide into a giant “Playground” where customers can discover and enjoy the collaboration.

Pokémon Mega Festa 2026 comes to OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu with immersive events and limited-edition merchandise

The centerpiece of the collaboration will be OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu. In conjunction with “Pokémon Mega Festa 2026” (Mega Festa), a 30th-anniversary celebration taking place in Seongsu, OLIVE YOUNG will offer a range of experiences, including gamified events, a pop-up store, an exhibition and online participation programs.

First, OLIVE YOUNG will host the “Pokémon GO Seoul Stamp Rally” in collaboration with the globally popular augmented reality game “Pokémon GO.” Participants can open the Pokémon GO app and visit three designated locations, including key Mega Festa sites and OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu, to collect stamps. Those who complete the rally can receive a promotional “Magikarp” card at the Pokémon Secret Garden Stamp Rally information booth in Seoul Forest. By connecting the Mega Festa experience with OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu, the campaign encourages visitors to discover both Pokémon and K-beauty along the same route.

OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu will also be transformed into a pop-up store and exhibition space under the theme of a Pokémon “30th Anniversary Party.” The space will feature a range of immersive experiences, including a coloring zone, photo zone, limited-edition merchandise presented through a capsule-toy-style setup, and Pikachu-shaped desserts. A floor-by-floor stamp rally will add another layer of fun to the experience.

The Pokémon experience expands nationwide with 61 brands and around 230 limited-edition products

The experience at Seongsu will extend to OLIVE YOUNG stores nationwide and its online channels. At 13 key stores, including major town locations, customers will find dedicated programs such as OLIVE YOUNG X Pokémon photo zones, in-store stamp rallies and machines that print receipts featuring Pokémon messages of support. Customers will also receive Pokémon-themed gifts, including picnic chairs and acrylic figures, based on their purchase amount.

A record 61 brands will participate in the collaboration, 29 more than in OLIVE YOUNG’s previous collaboration with Sanrio Characters. Building on the success of the July 2025 Sanrio Characters collaboration, in which OLIVE YOUNG actively supported participating brands with product development and marketing and saw international customer sales increase by 60%, this year’s campaign will be the largest collaboration of its kind to date.

Around 230 products spanning beauty, wellness and lifestyle categories will be offered as specially curated items and at promotional prices. Selected products will feature Pokémon-themed packaging and come with exclusive gifts such as keychains, compact mirrors and pouches. Customers who spend KRW 80,000 or more will receive a disposable camera, while those who spend KRW 40,000 or more will receive a magnet, with gifts available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Pokémon universe will also be incorporated throughout the stores to make the shopping experience more engaging. In particular, OLIVE YOUNG has developed exclusive designs featuring Smoliv, a Pokémon whose appearance resembles an olive, including artwork of Smoliv enjoying a picnic. The designs will appear on shopping bags, displays and store exteriors. Pokémon’s iconic theme song and a collaborative theme song featuring a K-pop artist will also be played in stores to enhance the atmosphere.

“We expect this collaboration between K-beauty, which is attracting attention around the world, and Pokémon, a globally beloved IP, to offer a fresh and engaging experience for customers in Korea and around the world," said an OLIVE YOUNG representative. "We will continue to provide a range of promotions and marketing support to help brands available at OLIVE YOUNG expand their connections with customers.”
