CJ OLIVE YOUNG announced that it will reopen its Apgujeong Rodeo store on October 30 following a relocation and renovation, transforming it into the company's first store dedicated to beauty tourism. Located in Seoul's Gangnam district, the new store is designed to cater to the growing number of international visitors coming to Korea for beauty treatments and K-beauty shopping.

The new store spans approximately 860 square meters, more than five times the size of the previous 152-square-meter location. Given Apgujeong Rodeo's popularity among visitors seeking beauty treatments, OLIVE YOUNG has moved the store to a three-story building closer to Apgujeong Rodeo Station, offering a significantly larger retail space.

According to data from Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare, dermatology accounted for 56.6% of medical visits among international patients in Korea in 2024, the highest share of any medical specialty. Of those patients, 80% also made purchases at OLIVE YOUNG, based on tax refund service data from Global Tax Free (GTF). These figures underscore the strong connection between beauty tourism and K-beauty shopping. The area surrounding OLIVE YOUNG Apgujeong Rodeo is home to around 100 dermatology and plastic surgery clinics, as well as the Gangnam Medical Tour Center, a medical tourism information facility operated by Gangnam District.

The store's layout and product assortment have been tailored to the needs of beauty tourists. The first floor features color cosmetics, the second floor focuses on personal care—including hair and body care—and wellness, and the third floor is dedicated to skincare. The assortment ranges from beauty tools such as gua sha and lifting bands, as well as inner beauty products like teas for managing puffiness, to skincare products for post-treatment care and beauty devices.

The sheet mask section is twice the size of the one at OLIVE YOUNG Myeongdong Town. Products are organized by format and function, from traditional sheet masks to gel masks, catering to a wide range of skincare needs, including post-treatment soothing and puffiness care, as well as firming and nourishment. The store also expands the brand selection, introducing mask brands such as NoProb, anotherface, wellderma and House of B, which were previously available only through OLIVE YOUNG's online store or at OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu.

To help visitors explore K-beauty in greater depth, the store also offers dedicated spaces for skincare advice and personalized product recommendations. On the third floor, where skincare products are concentrated, a beauty counseling area will offer tailored consultations from OLIVE YOUNG's professional consultants, supported by its SKIN SCAN service for skin analysis. Customers can also use self-service devices to access SCALP SCAN for scalp analysis and Pick Your Color for personal color analysis.

“Apgujeong Rodeo attracts both Korean shoppers and international visitors seeking beauty treatments, making it an ideal location for this new store,” an OLIVE YOUNG representative said. “We plan to use the store as a testbed for further refining our offline retail strategy. Through new services and promotions tailored to the diverse needs of visitors to Korea, we aim to further establish K-beauty as a key pillar of sustainable tourism to the country.”
