CLEAN BEAUTY
Introduction to OLIVE YOUNG CLEAN BEAUTY
Olive Young has implemented CLEAN BEAUTY standards from a sustainable management perspective. To ensure product safety for both people and the environment, it established ingredient exclusion criteria and grants an emblem to qualifying products. As the first Korean cosmetics distributor to establish proprietary Clean Beauty standard in 2022, Olive Young has since expanded its product categories and tightened the standards. These efforts are ongoing, with a clear goal of advancing Clean Beauty and evolving into a conscious beauty.

Internal Quality
Efforts
Olive Young strives to secure product quality in the distribution process and preemptively address potential legal risks in order to provide services that consumers can trust.
To ensure compliance and customer safety, intensive inspections were conducted on "items of concern for consumer harm" to improve the online and offline labeling and safety standard compliance verification process. The company has distributed a label safety compliance guide to partners to prevent quality issues related to this.
The company conducts safety verifications of its private label products in partnership with external organizations. Furthermore, the company conducts approximately 10,400 multifaceted quality inspections annually on the products, covering functions, operation, leakage, drop and sensory tests, to prevent non-compliant products at the receiving stage.
To provide safe products to customers, Olive Young performs periodic quality inspections at its stores. Through annual on-site inspections of directly managed/franchised stores, the company checks legal compliance in product cleanliness/hygiene, unfair displays, repackaging and so on, and provides notes and improvement guides as necessary.
The company provides a "Compliance Guide for Store Personnel" for regulated products, such as cosmetics, medical devices, general foods and health functional foods, to employees in the store. We are helping field employees to have a better understanding of violations and associated penalties for different products.

Managing Labeling and Advertising Risks
The company constantly monitors regulatory developments and press issues, ensuring swift and effective responses and promptly implementing necessary changes. In addition, it aims to provide accurate information to customers and foster sound business growth by establishing and distributing guidelines on greenwashing and health functional food advertisement.
To prevent potential violations of regulations on environmental labeling and advertising, and to ensure compliance with relevant laws, the company distributed company-wide guidelines based on standards from the Ministry of Environment, the Korea Fair Trade Commission, and major international regulators. It also provided training to marketing teams and working-level staff.
To improve basic quality capabilities and raise awareness of legal compliance among employees, Olive Young gives trainings on quality laws such as those concerning labeling and advertising for new product development employees.
